By earning the Seniors Real Estate Specialist (SRES) designation, we have the necessary knowledge and expertise to counsel out clients age 50-plus through major financial and lifestyle transitions involved in relocating, refinancing, or selling the family home. 

Seniors can buy and sell property several times over the course of their retirement years as they progress through life and health stages: 

UPSIZE: Age 50 (pre to early retirement). Prefer a larger house with room for the grandchildren and other guests.

DOWNSIZE: Age 65. At this stage the grandchildren are teenagers or in college and are not interested in spending spring break or summers with the grandparents anymore. Adult children are involved in careers and do not have much time to visit either. Seniors want to downsize to a more manageable property. As health begins to weaken (age 70-75+), seniors may move closer to family members.

LAST HOME: Age 80+. The last move may involve selling the house or condo and moving to an assisted-living facility. The adult children will often be involved in this transaction.
